    F13 x64 DVD can't boot

I downloaded 64 bit F13 DVD from http link. Checksum fine.
After I burned into DVD disc, the disc can't boot.
Tried with 3 different media all same, and PC boot from DVD fine with windows, old Fedora and ubuntu installation DVDs.
Can someone give me some hints what I should do next. thx heaps.

Maby no help to you, but I can confirm the issue. I tried two different DVD's, checksum ok, but can't boot from the 64-bit version.

    Re: F13 x64 DVD can't boot

Found out solution by myself. Its IDE DVD-W drive support drama to me.
I tried with ext-dvdw from usb port boot up fine. Now in installation process.

Hope this will give others some help.

Confirmed as an issue here too. Checksum OK, won't boot. Interestingly I can boot it in a VirtualBox VM and the media checks fine in that.

Same problem with 32 bit F13 and HP IDE DVD. SATA DVD and USB DVD work fine on same machine.

    Re: F13 x64 DVD can't boot

    We talked about it here:

    http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=245766

Everyone solved it in his/her own way: usb, upgrade, live media.

But we have no idea of what is causing the problem.

I'm working now, but i will send a bug to bugzilla when i get home.

    Re: F13 x64 DVD can't boot

This is funny. My 64bit version booted just fine. However, when it comes to the OpenOffice.org-core-3.2.0-blabla installation it hangs up.
This may be due to my limited space (27GiB), but I kinda doubt it. I was so hopeful to get it working well at home, having flawlessly installed a 32bit version at work... :S

    Any suggestions are welcome!

Edit: Funny this! To get at least something working, I reverted to an old F11 disk, which I'd successfully installed ages ago. Guess where that one hung up? Right, OpenOffice has a grudge against me!
Still trying to find a workaround...

    Re: F13 x64 DVD can't boot

    I have the same issue.

To those who are having problems, what motherboard do you have? So far it seems like the majority (if not all) of the problems are with Gigabyte boards.

What is the advantage of running 64bit Fedora? Is it faster? Does 32bit live cd work?
Have you tried Community Fedora Remix? - http://fcoremix.wordpress.com/2010/05/25/lucky-13/

Yeah I have a Intel / gigabyte motherboard and tried several different different types and makes of DVD using Gnomebaker and K3B with no success. Its seems to be the 64bit on DVD as I was able to boot and install the i686 F13-games spin DVD.

    Re: F13 x64 DVD can't boot

I also cannot boot the DVD and I have two drives, one with SATA and one with IDE. Gigabyte motherboard. I prefered Fedora (in what seems to be turning into the old days) and have been stuck using openSUSE for a year now. Guys, please do better testing. See you when F14 comes out (crossing my fingers).

    Re: F13 x64 DVD can't boot

I cannot boot the 64-bit DVD as I stated above. My system also has a gigabyte mobo (GA-EP45-DSL3). I ended up installing with the netinst CD which worked fine.
