Hi.
I have two computers. One is dual xeon with GeForce 440 MX. The other is athlon 64 3200+ (2.0G + 1MB Cache) with FX 5600 Graphics card.
According to nvidia forums, the nvidia drivers should not work with the new kernel because of the 4kstack option enables in the new kernel.
I installed FC2 into both computers. I graped the relevant nvidia driver installers. The athlon 64 bit machine seemed to like the nvidia driver with no problems.
But the problem is that The i386 computer did not like the driver. When I install the driver, and startx, the graphics firesup at no apparent problem, but when I logout the x (normal logout), the computer crashes showing white horizontal lines across the screen. I have tried all the suggestions in the nvnews forums but the problem is never fixed.
But My question here, is FC2 for x86_64 is 4kstack disabled? then how can we explain the compatibility between the nvidia modules with the kernel 2.6?
just wondering!
