F12 - Can't boot off Live CD... hangs after boot menu.

I'm trying to install F12 off the live CD onto my thinkpad T60, but it's hanging at the boot menu. I get to the four options, and as soon as I choose "boot", the screen goes to black, and after 10-15 secs, comes back with the same boot menu, but a messed up on.

I have the ATI X1300 in the Thinkpad and I'm aware there are problems with certain ATI cards. Could it be the X1300, or possibly another issue, and what are some commands/things I can try? Thanks in advance.

nomodeset did the trick, up and running now
