Re: how to restore nm-applet in Gnome

Thanks ozjd
your references are very useful and a source of great help in solving various configuration problems.especially the VLC player's play back problem. But I couldn't find any relavent information about how to restore the nm-applet on the top left side on the Gnome panel. This icon is very useful and also shows the wireless signal strength.Iam now using the terminal commands
pppoe-start /path/to/config/file
pppoe-stop /path/to/config/file . I still have not figured out how to bring back the icon (applet). So any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Quote from the thread

Quote:
The NetworkManager applet puts an icon into what is called the "Notification Area" of the panel. So if you are just moving things around make sure you have that on your panel, and if you don't it can be added by right clicking and choosing add to panel and selecting Notification Area.
