Nouveau & 3D apps

I'm wondering if anyone has similar experiences on F13. I don't know if nouveau is complicit or not, but, that's what I'm using as a graphic driver.
Extremetuxracer performed well, although I had to do a restart to get back my dual display settings. It wasn't that bad, but gkrellm was moved to center screen, so, it might be the dual display that interfered.

BUT

blender, supertuxkart & tuxpuck all bombed out, and the backtraces looked similar.

tuxpuck caused a metacity error (resulting in a locked splash screen) - Process /usr/bin/metacity was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT)

supertuxkart (changed resolution to app. 800X600 and didn't start) - Process /usr/bin/supertuxkart was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT)

blender flashed on the screen for a fraction of a second then disappeared - Process /usr/bin/blender.bin was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT)

I was installing 3D apps today to test how well nouveau would perform and ran into these problems. I've never had so many apps in Fedora fail at one time, and, the fact that they were all 3D was the common thread. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

Nouveau 3D support is experimental and basic compositing and some 3D works but it is not fully functional yet.

Thanks for reply Rahul. It's just that nouveau was working so well on everything else I use it for, I was surprised by the failures today.

They may get decent 3d out of fedora 13 on 90 percent of the gpu's but good or great 3d on more gpu's is probably not going to happen till 14.

goineasy9: 3D support is massively more complex than the 2D nouveau has supported so far, and as Rahul says, it's still very experimental. Really it's mostly available in Fedora so we can test gnome-shell, I think,...
