Radeon 5870 compatibility with F12

Hello, on a following post that there are not any drivers available for ATi 5800 drivers that are compatible with Fedora 12. On that post I asked the same question but no response on that thread; so I thought I would post here instead.

So I had two questions, should I just move to F11 for the time being until Ati does produce compatible drivers?

Or is there a fix out there that anyone has a work around? I also read somewhere that you could use Windows drivers for Linux hardware? Gfx-3 or I think it was, how reliable is that?

I am really new to Linux, I just got F12 installed about two days ago, so this is a huge learning experience for me. I did however get the installation and boot options setup quite easily from all the information on this site, so I thank you all already.
