I have posted the same problem on Google Chrome troubleshoot hopefully it isn't in a bad taste to post it here too!
I am trying to install Google Chrome Beta version on Fedora 12(on an eeepc 1000). I go to the Chrome website, download the the browser file(32 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE)) and start installing it on my net-book,I am using Firefox as my current browser.
As the Chrome starts to install, it fails giving the following error message box titled:
Dependency Resolution Failed". I then click for more details under which it says the following: "lsb >= 3.2 is needed by package google-chrome-beta-5.0.342.7-42476.i386 (/google-chrome-beta_current_i386).
Now, I go to the terminal and try to get/install Chrome from there. Following is the output/error that I receive:
[Fahim@Tesla ~]$ su
[root@Tesla Fahim]# yum install google*
Loaded plugins: presto, refresh-packagekit
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again
In general, I am having this problem; about 95% of the time when I try to install a package in fedora using Add/Remove Software GUI operation fails giving "Dependency resolution Failed", I haven't foggiest ideas as to why this problem occurs? Is it something I may have caused by selecting something while installing Fedora 12? Please, help!
