Dear all,
I often make use of the gnome-panel launcher. I have icons to start firefox, thunderbird
and eclipse there.
I noticed that, exactly right after mounting an encfs directory (the exact command
I use is "encfs --idle=60 $HOME/.private $HOME/private"), these icons in my gnome-panel
cease to work.
I can still start, e.g., firefox from a terminal. However, if I click the firefox gnome-panel icon,
the firefox tab in my application tabs shows up for a fraction of a second, and then vanishes,
like the application crashes or something.
A workaround is to log off my user and log back in. The encfs directory then is still mounted,
while the gnome-panel icons work correctly again. But this is quite annoying to do of course.
