F12 update --> akmod 195.36.08

The Nvidia driver with the fan problem:

quote Leigh's warning:

We believe recent NVIDIA UNIX graphics drivers, 195.36.08 and 195.36.03, are also affected by this
Well the akmod for that driver (195.36.08) is in tonight's update and it's going to remove the 190.53 driver. I'm aborting the update. Shouldn't this package be removed from rpmfusion?

Re: F12 update --> akmod 195.36.08

Luckily, the only box I installed it on has integrated video (6150LE) with no fan, so there shouldn't be a problem.

But FWIW, I think that it already HAS been pulled from RPM Fusion's mirrors.

But, hey - according to this poll http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1337650 - the majority WANTS to get updates straight to stable with no testing. And majority rules, right?

That's incorrect... it's still in fc12's rpmfusion-nonfree-updates repo.
190.53-1.fc12.i686 and 190.42-1.fc12.4.i586/i686 are there, too, though.

I did not see it in fc11's at all (that's why I thought it had been pulled), where the latest (30 DEC 2009) appears to be 190.53-1 and regression 190.42-1.

Re: F12 update --> akmod 195.36.08

Code:
yum downgrade kmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia kmod-nvidia-PAE nvidia-kmod-common xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs
and booting previous kernel worked for me, but I'm NOT using akmod

@Darr247
AdamW's quote:

I don't want to get into an argument, (because I just got up, haven't had my coffee, and am blurry eyed....) but I don't think that means pushing apps that are untested. If I wanted that I'd go back to Debian Sid.

Just looked, they're still in F12 repo.

@giulix
Thanks, for the downgrade line, I caught it before. Akmod's always worked for me, although the way things are looking (at least for my needs on my boxes), I may stick to nouveau on F13. Still testing.
