Question How to create RAW disk device in Fedora 12

Hi everybody,
I got this information of creating raw devices and then starting the service

service rawdevices start

But there appears to be no service 'rawdevices'. Please can anyone help me with this?

Is there anyway I can create an disk /dev/sda7 and then link it as a raw device???

Thanks a lot...

The information you got is obsolete. The raw device interface (/dev/raw) was deprecated years ago and it's removed completely from current Fedora versions.

Why do you think you need a "raw disk"? What are you trying to do?

CentOS would be a better choice for a database server OS. Anyway, just use normal disk partitions for Oracle storage.
