Is anyone running proper rawhide ( not F13 crap )

Nouveau - I read the post about 3D coming to Nouveau http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=240573. Guess it's not quite there yet.

All is fine in my rawhide, except that my gnome-shell has been broken since quite a few days. Are any of you able to run gnome-shell. I'm on intel graphics.

Sounds like someones forgot to move they stock money to the new emerging market.
Not much reason for the average bloke to be running rawhide anymore.

I've been running it on a netbook, but with fluxbox (so no Noveau, no Gnome). Hrrm, say that five times fast.

Big thumbs up for F14 here, everything that I have used works and I like the new gnome theme
F14 does seem smother than F13.

Well, after some F13-F14 repo chaos and missing gpg keys, it works.
I have a silly question. Is it possible to play with gnome-shell w/o having 3D acceleration working? I refuse installing it on my real hardware, mainly because of the rc kernel (I still remember 2.6.27rc and some Intel NIC madness...)

Hi
Nope You need 3D acceleration which is one of the reasons why Red Hat is investing on getting ATI and Nouveau acceleration done and there is nothing wrong with trying out RC kernels You can always boot into the older version if necessary If software can damage hardware it is definitely a hardware bug as well and such instances are extremely rare and can happen in non RC versions as well

Thx.
I just got a crazy idea. I never used it, but IIRC, VBox has the ability to pass the 3D accel features to guests, could it work? If nobody tried, I'll definitely give it a shot when I get home. Though, I don't hold my breath.
