Where has my shutdown button gone?

I run fedora 11, on KDE recently after an update the option to shut-down or restart has disappeared, I have to log out and then shut down. Its things like this that make me think fedora is emulating Microsoft grrrrrr. How do I get it back? Why was it removed in the first place? I don't like computers or programmers trying to do my thinking for me.
