Angry g2ipmsg

I have to have this program installed, to be able to receive files, messages over lan in my college.
I haven't been able to install it on anything except fedora (found an rpm, and somehow it was there in repositories too maybe livna).
Doesn't show all the people.
Infinite error messages (with differing intensities for different character codes).
Cannot send messages to 1/4th of the crowd.
And many more
This has been the case for 3 years.
Only option is to use ipmsg through wine, which means i won't use it.

It's always a good thing to check the posting date. If a thread's over a year old, like this, chances are that he's no longer interested in a reply.
