Does ndiswrapper work in 64bit Linux?

Hello everyone.

I am about to install Fedora 12 in a friends laptop (Toshiba Satellite L505) and discovered that the wireless chip is not supported (it's a Realtek 8191SE). I learned here that my option would be to install ndiswrapper in order to use a Windows driver.

I remember that a while back ndiswrapper worked only with Fedora i686, is this still the case? Or can I use it with F12 x86_64?

Thanks very much,
Joe.

I've seen examples of ndiswrapper working in 64-bit Fedora versions. But reportedly, you must use the 64-bit version of the Windows driver.

Hello joe.pelayo

Ndiswrapper is in the rpmfusion 64bit repositories.

Should be an indication that it'll work with at least some drivers.

Re: Does ndiswrapper work in 64bit Linux?

Hello stoat,

Could you maybe post a link of the working example on 64bit fedora....or take a look at this thread (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=277809) and maybe you can help me with my problem?

I've been trying to get ndiswrapper to work with rtl8192ce for about a week.

Thanks!
