Help Installing Awesome

Hello, I've been searching for tutorials on how to install awesome, it would be nice if someone can guide me on how to install Awesome Window Manager.

Help is appreciated

when you open the tarball the install instructions inside
do you know how to open a tarball?

Sigh, I've forgotten how I did it.

I have a somewhat dated page on installing tarballs.

Before installing tarballs in Fedora, you need to have, at a bare minimum, the following

yum install gcc gcc-c++ make automake kernel-devel

This will pull in some other things as well.

I don't remember anything too special about awesome.

Of course, I might have just installed it in Ubuntu and used alien to make it into an rpm. Hrrm, I see on this CentOS box I have an awesome x86_64 rpm. Not sure if I built it or just used alien from a Debian package.
