Waiting for transaction lock

Hello Galls an Guys,

I am not able to install any rpms. If I try to manually or yum install a rpm it always tells me its waiting for a transaction lock and never goes further than that.

Can anyone point me to the right direction?

have you done an su?

Yeah, it happens even when I run it as root.

When did it start, it is fairly common. try to kill all frozen rpm transaction

killall rpm

and check if there are any files in the directory /var/lock/rpm.

I have /var/lock but not /var/lock/rpm. Maybe thats a clue.

You should always search the forum for solutions to your problems befora posting

Well I did do a search here an on google. Anyways I did touch /var/lock/rpm ran yum and it works. Thanks
