Fedora Core 3 Test 3 Released

For all you Fedora Testers out there, you might like to know that Fedora Core 3 Test 3 had been released. This is a test release and should only be used by those who have considerable experience with Fedora and who intend to test the system in its current state. Bug reports should be filed at the Bugzilla. Don't forget that we have a Fedora Core 3 Test forum for discussion about the latest release.

Noteable features of this release are:
  • All translations committed by the string freeze should be built.
Please verify the accuracy and completeness of translations
in your local language of choice.
  • Evolution has been updated to the released 2.0.1 version
  • Final GNOME 2.8 is included
  • the x86-64 DVD should now fit on a normal single-sided DVD
  • updates and fixes to the udev stack
  • the usual assorted bug fixes and updates
See the mirror list for download locations.

think i'll wait untill its been fully tested before playing with it... i have this skill of breaking things easily enough as it is, without it being unstable anyway.

Hope that you will be good enough soon to test beta realises. After some time ... Don't worry.

After I have reformated my 100gb partition from ntfs to ext3 I will begin to test new beta realises. I am pretty sure.

At the moment I have 10gb WinXP, 10gb Fedora and 100gb ntfs data partition. I use cd-rw to transport music from the linux partition to ntfs partition (I download quite heavily and the linux partition is quite small). I just have to back up 55gb data on the ntfs partition to reformat it, but this needs some time and good will. But after that I think I will be one of those good people testing betas (as much as my time enables it). Hm, actually it needs one more partition or what? How big it should be? I don't want to make it very big - as small as possible.

I just finished an ICT A Level and am now at the University of Nottingham, but thats besides the point.

Your experience level with Linux doesn't seem too high at the moment, give it a few months before delving into testing. Fedora Core 3 full release will be upon us soon enough.

Seriously. I burned the cds last night, this morning I log into my brand new FC3T2 and the first headline I see is, "FC3T3 is out." Ok, I'll drink the koolaid again.

damn I still havent even perfected my fc3t2 setup..I'll just wait this time around, I mainly even bothered to upgrade from fc2 for certain bug fixes (Kudzu, and some improved automounting behavior.)

Same happened to me... I had just installed FC3t2 then I do a yum update and B00M... 1000+ packages...

This thing went on for about 4 hours.... (stupid openoffice.org package took like 1 hour to download).

For you testers out there, here's a list of some bugs that needs more testing.

And here's a quick guide on how to get bugs fixed:

it's not, ive been playing on and off with it for a few months but now i have a practical use for it as my home server but my knowledge is up to enough to survive the basics... really need to get a dual boot going on my pc to really start playing.

I cheat at the moment and use webmin for everything and dont bother with installing all the graphical stuff for my server.

DVD ISO of FC3T3 over 2GB's smaller than FC3T2's?

Subject line says it all - FC3T3 i386 DVD ISO is 2.3GB, but FC3T2's equivalent was 4.4GB - why the 2.1GB difference? Is it missing source code or something else important?
