Changing Video Card - Before Installation?

I have currently Nvida somthing generic $20 card, i also have a old Voodoo 3 TV Card. I want to be able to capture some video and want to put it back in. I'm not setting up fedora to my liking, is a hardware switch something easy to do in linux or should i just reinstall fedora before i get everything to my liking?

Typically, you can change the hardware and just boot up - kudzu will detect the newer hardware and update your system. However, if you've made modifications to drivers (like installing the NVidia drivers) or other changes to your X configuration, it may not work quite like you'd expect and you'll have to mess with it a bit.

This should have no affect on user-specific settings, such as desktop preference, themes, etc.

I haven't made any video driver changes, the only thing that i'v done since installing fedora is install Hostap drivers to run my wireless PCI card, which did take a little editing of the kernel. But nothing that will effect video. Will this cause problems?

As far as I know, no, it shouldn't. However, before you go through the trouble you might want to check and make sure that your TV card will work - you can start at http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/, but I recommend using Google a lot.
