I started off with the stock kernel and the wireless would not work. I decided to go with a custom kernel. The custom kernel has a very similar configuration to the one that I used in Fedora 11. I had no problems with Fedora 11. I have tried installing the akmod-wl driver as well as the Broadcom STA from source with the exact same results. My system detects the card as a wireless adapter but does not display any networks under network manager. It just shows as wireless networks disconnected. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Please do no answer with things like, "Why are you using a custom kernel". I need to figure out the problem that I am having and if it is with the custom kernel, I would like to narrow down the cause, not just use the stock kernel.
