I have a problem with the alsa configuration of my audigy 4 sound card, namely that the S/PDIF Optical Raw always resets to "On" after every reboot... Problem is if that switch is enabled, the two front speakers do not work (neither in 5.1 nor in simple stereo).
What I tried:
- alsactl store: odd enough /etc/asound.state does not even mention that switch existing
- amixer set 'S/PDIF Optical Raw' off, amixer -c 0 set name='S/PDIF Optical Raw' off etc all say
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'name=S/PDIF Optical Raw',0
The only thing that works is manually setting the switch in alsamixer after every reboot.
- Does anyone have any idea where the S/PDIF settings are stored? In fact it seems that none of the S/PDIF settings are stored in asound.state, they all get reset with an alsactl restore. If someone knew where they are stored I could work around the problem with a script at boot-time / login .
- Or even better, anyone know how to fix the problem itself?
Up-to-date Fedora 12 w testing repos (alsa 1.0.21, pulseaudio 0.9.20)
Sound card details: Pulse shows it as Audigy2 Value SB0400, Alsamixer as Audigy 4 SB0610 - I bought it as an Audigy 4 ...
Thanks for any inputs!
