cron jobs

Hi,

I wanted to use cron to play a media file at a certain time (i.e. use it as an alarm clock). However it seems to do nothing. I am not sure what I am doing wrong and would like some help. The contents of my crontab is:

SHELL=/bin/bash
PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
MAILTO=root
HOME=/

Instead of editing the file /etc/crontab, it's easier to run the command crontab directly.
First of all see the current crontab jobs and remove them all.
To list all crontab jobs :

crontab -l

and for removing them all

crontab -r

Now type in the command line

crontab -e

and type your cron job, it will be like

5 11 * * * env DISPLAY=:0.0 /usr/bin/totem /path_to_file
