I have exactly the same problem and I just found a solution for it but this requires you to modify the code of the program which is written in python:
1- you need to login using with the 'root' account, so open a terminal window and type:
and then enter the password.
or if better if you can login using the 'root' in the GUI
2- the file you need to edit is at the following location:
/usr/share/system-config-users/mainwindow.py
open this file using any editor. I used gedit, but I used the GUI to do that.
3- at line 201 you will find the following statement:
Code:
self.userStore = gtk.ListStore(gobject.TYPE_STRING, gobject.TYPE_INT, gobject.TYPE_STRING,
gobject.TYPE_STRING, gobject.TYPE_STRING, gobject.TYPE_STRING,
gobject.TYPE_PYOBJECT)
this should be changed to:
Code:
self.userStore = gtk.ListStore(gobject.TYPE_STRING, gobject.TYPE_INT64, gobject.TYPE_STRING,
gobject.TYPE_STRING, gobject.TYPE_STRING, gobject.TYPE_STRING,
gobject.TYPE_PYOBJECT)
save the file and run "system-config-users" and it should work
the problem is that the user nfsnobody has a userid of 4294967294 which is too big to fit in an integer data type as the original code assigns for the userid. this modification assigns long integer data type for that field which allows that number to fit and get displayed. This problem will happens when you try to view all users.
