Sis671 Graphic card driver
Hello
I really liked Fedora 11. But the Vesa driver drived me crazy. An opensuse user presented the following
solution. He just converted the sis671 (2d) deb.driver to rpm. It could be a solution on Fedora too.
Anyone could try it on their own, but the best solution would be if someone in the Fedora team could
integrate it in the next release. I know the driver is available in Mandriva, Ubuntu and Pclinux.
If you just could fix this hatch, i'll certainly become a future Fedora user...
Regards from Norway

Hello,
Have you looked at the latest xf86-video-sis version 0.10.2 which is packaged as xorg-x11-drv-sis-0.10.2-1.fc12 in rawhide ?

@chepioq : different upstream versions more than 6 months apart; 0.10.1 vs 0.10.2

that's a different driver. the reporter has an annoying SiS chipset which isn't supported by any of the main SiS drivers, only by a modified driver which I usually refer to as sisimedia .
I did the initial packaging of this driver for Mandriva, and I keep meaning to port it over to Fedora. Never got around to it yet, though. Sigh. Sorry. You may be able to grab the latest Mandriva build:
http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/view...media/current/
and convert it to a Fedora package, it wouldn't be *too* difficult. That's what I'd be doing, if I could find the time.
