f11 can't empty trash

I run f11 on an HP 530 laptop under KDE and I have had a couple issues since upgrading from f10.
The most important being that I have to go into the .local folder to even locate the trash folder and if I try to empty it, everything just duplicates. I would really like to empty my trash...
Any suggestions?

Have you tried force emptying the trash

su
rm -fr /home/$(logname)/.local/share/Trash/files

ok, I tried looking up how to list everything in the directory and failed... *hangs head* if someone could walk me through it step by step I would be very grateful. I have no idea what to do once I've told it to run from the trash folder

I had some Win Zips in my trash I couldn't delete. A forced delete worked for me
