update problem

I was running Fedora 11 on a ACER Aspire 7720 and all working OK.
Last Wednesday I updated teh system and I lost Desktop Effects and the ability to change the brigtness of the screen.
I don't know exactly what package was wrong.
Help please

what 3d driver are you using and did you also update it ?

I know that the video card or the chipset is Intel X3100.

It sounds like you've been hit by a variant of the bug caused by the latest xorg-x11-server-Xorg update, which is effecting using of Intel graphics and compiz ('Desktop effects').
