Fedora (GRUB) removal
I am fairly sure that I have not seen this anywhere already discussed. However here goes, I have a computer running WinXP and I installed Fedora on a seperate drive. Now Fedora (GRUB) has placed in the master boiot record a reference to the seperate drive. I need to remove fedora and the GRUB boot file from the computer so that I can operate my computer as it was, and access all the data on another drive I had to remove to put in hte one fedora now runs on. Please someone tell me how to fix this.

Remove GRUB
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. However, I'll guess that you
want to remove Fedora and GRUB, leasving your WindowsXP system as it
was pre-Fedora.
To do this, use a boot disk or rescue CD to boot into DOS (or a Windows command line).
Then type the command
fdisk /mbr
This removes GRUB from the mbr and allows Windows to boot as it normal does.

Not sure if it is a command you can only run from the install CD but I believe the XP command is actually "fixmbr". You may be able to use fdisk/mbr as well. If you can't find fdisk, try fixmbr.

I thought it might be available from the XP command line too, but I checked when I got to work and it's not. fdisk isn't available either. Darn XP!

Long story short, if you "lost" your install CD **cough, cough** you'll save yourself a lot of hassle by just borrowing one and doing what has been listed here. I wonder if someone could just sent him the fixmbr program from the disk without being fined $100,000 by Microsoft.
