Update manager does not recognise connection

Hi,
I've got my Three Oz Hauwei modem working after defining iusing the Network Ikon, but when I try to install software using system/administration/add-remove software, I get the message 'No network connection available'

Any suggestions?

Found that Network manager required updates. Thanks to the Unofficial Fedora Faq, I was able to install the updates with Yum.

Connection now OK
