How to get Scanner working in Brother DCP-385C [SOLVED]

I have recently installed Fedora11 and have managed to get the printer side of the above multifunction machine working but not the scanner . The computer recognises the scanner and sane, xsane, sanelib's etc are all installed . When I try to open it it gives the following:

Failed to open device 'brother3:bus5;dev1':
Error during device I/O

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

This is a permission problem.

from http://solutions.brother.com/linux/e...scn1c.html#f11

Code:
Fedora 11
    1. Create "/lib/udev/rules.d/10-local.rules"
    2. Write the following 4 lines to the file.

    The lines to be added---------------------------

    SUBSYSTEM!="usb_device", ACTION!="add", GOTO="_end"
    # Brother
    ATTR{idVendor}=="04f9", SYMLINK+="scanner-%k"
    LABEL="_end"

    3. Restart the OS.
It worked with my DCP-330c

Thank you Luctor. I have done that but it still comes up with the same message. BTW I put Brother DCP385C in the spot where it has ATTR {idVendor} . Is that the correct thing to do?
Is there something else I could try ?
Regards

Thank you Luctor .I have removed the Brother DCP385C from the idVendor and replaced it with {idVendor} as it says and all works ok now ..
This thread can now be closed as the problem has been sucessfully solved.

I've used this solution, and it worked for a while, but whilst the file is still in place with the recommended contents, I now get the scanner error
Failed to open device 'brother3:bus4;dev1':
Invalid argument

Any other ideas? Thanks.
