Question remote access and view

okay I am using real vnc on my small network. I want to access multiple
remote machines at once, like a console window. Be able to view the screens
unnoticed sometimes to see what users are doing.I do have cross platform os systems. i want to be able to use Linux server or windows server to view windows and Linux servers/desktops.

And if possible,be able to send a message to the screen of remote computer as well. not rely on a message window to be open. for like saying network will be down for maintenance message.

I am a windows server turned linux server newbie.
