Exclamation kernel 2.6 and Xorg probs

I had installed everything in fc1 and had been using it perfectly I just upgraged to fc2 using anaconda's upgrade option, and grub's default is my old 2.4 kernel, which works fine using the old Xfree86. But when I try to boot into the newly installed 2.6 kernel it attempts to start Xorg and complains about an improperly configured mouse. When I try to change the settings it just hangs, and I cannot even find xorg.conf, which makes me assume Xorg was not really installed becuase I onle did an upgrade.

any help is appreciated
