System goes to sleep (auto) after trying to wakeup....

I am trying to figure out what is causing my system to go to sleep as soon as I wake it up.

- Every time I put my notebook to sleep by pressing (Fn+F1)...
- When I wake it up by hitting the power button or opening the lid,
- The system starts wakening, but then it just sleeps again.
- By this time I just hit the power button or open the lid again, and is ok then.

Any ideas what I could look at?

I been trying to read about ACPI & HAL, but I haven't notice anything suspicious.

I have a Dell M1330 with Nvidia (manufacturer drivers) running FC11.

Thanks for any tips.

So I found what i was, in case anyone needs this...

My PC was running both ACPI and PM-UTILS. This causes the system to suspend after resume.

To solve this, just rename your /etc/acpi files.

For example:
Code:
[root@linuxnb acpi]# tree
.
|-- actions
| `-- power.sh.00
`-- events
    |-- power.conf.00
    `-- video.conf.00
Now I need to figure out how to make Fn+F1 call pm-suspend.
Currently this is calling pm-hibernate.

This is a known (and unresolved) bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475585

Your "solution" doesn't work for me. And it is not clear why it should since the acpi files check if pm is running and do nothing if it is (and shut down the machine on power button otherwise).
