Updated system, now can not boot into runlevel 5

Booting into runlevel 3 and then issuing the $init 5, command leaves me this.

"binary handler for windows applications already registered" and the system hangs there.

I yum removed wine, thinking that might be the issue, but that solved nothing.

That's definitely a wine thing. It seems like it's still trying to start the service. If you do
Code:
 ntsysv --level 345
is wine unchecked?

It was checked, I unchecked it and no longer get that particular error. It now freezes on IRQ balance. I can ctrl+c and get back to the cli.

Update

I had to reinstall my nvidia drivers. This is a problem I have run into with Ubuntu, but not Fedora before, after doing kernel updates. Sucks and it is a pita. Either way, thanks for chiming in.

Ah cool, so I bet wine really wasn't the problem it was just freezing at that point on the X display.

yeah, it's def seems like it has to do with the rpmfusion nvidia drivers. If I swapped out to my ATI card, it was able to boot fine. Also, not using the rpmfusion nvidia drivers, just sticking with the default also seems to work, no issues with upgrading

Every kernel upgrade I've done with Fedora 11 has rendered the box a brick with the rpmfusion nvidia drivers.

I'm using the drivers direct from nvidia. But probably close to the same. Guess nvidia and others think people only use one card. I have 3 9500's in my box.... Them working mildly better (that is to say at all) is the only reason I purchased nvidia over ati. I hope this gets resolved in the near future as it is a cross distro issue in my experience.

Interesting, guess I should switch. I downloaded direct from Nvidia a few weeks ago and have v 185.18.14
Are you running mult display?

So, I am not using the drivers from nvidia, I installed mine via this guide here: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...nvidia+drivers

No, I am not running multi display... but the driver in the above guide have easy support for it.

I have the same problem. My system just hangs at Registering binary handler for Windows applications.
I just did last updates (around 132).
Alt F2 does not work for me. I have default video drivers, no proprietary drivers at all.
I have FC11 on a Fujitsu amilo Li3910.
I managed to boot on the latest kernel, before I updated it. Anyone know what's the problem?

Thanks in advance.
