Mouse cursor moves in the opposite direction of the finger moving on the touchpad

My mouse cursor moves in the opposite direction of the finger moving on the touchpad. What's wrong? I'm using F10 and always updated.

Is this a brand new machine? - Have you tried another OS on it & if so, does it still do it?
If "yes" to both... (unless there IS a setting that makes it do this that I'm not aware of)
My first hunch/thought is that the "pad" is in upside down. Best contact the manufacture, if that's the case.

Go to System->Preferences->Hardware->Mouse and make sure Left Handed isn't selected.

It's an old machine and once had no such problem. A recent update (yum update) of the system made the movement of the mouse cursor wrong. The mouse cursor move correctly under the windows vista on the same machine. So it should not be a hardware problem.

The move direction gets wrong after the login screen appears. So it is not the business of the setting.

Also, not every time the system is started, the move direction gets wrong.
