Error Solved.

This is a bit embarrassing... I has solved this error it was so simple as in Manage Sites... Activate "http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emft/?project=search#search" and "http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emft/updates/" then select again android's "Android DDMS" and "Android Development Tools" and all it's wright.

I installed the eclipse-gef package via yum. Afterwards you have to activate the repo as described above and Aptana installs like a charm.

i dont know if your gef package will fix it for android.

But you need to enable the ganymaede releases update site.

I found this one:
http://code.google.com/eclipse/docs/...stinstallerror

Code:
Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede)

   1. Select Help > Software Updates...
   2. Select the Available Software tab.
   3. Click Manage Sites...
   4. Make sure the Ganymede Update Site is in your list of Available Software Sites, and checked. If it's not in the list, click Add... to add it. The Ganymede Update Site's URL is http://download.eclipse.org/releases/ganymede/
   5. Now go through the installation steps; Eclipse should download and install the plugin's dependencies.

Re: Installing Android on Eclipse

I encountered the same issue in F12, Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo). The link
given by stoggy
http://code.google.com/eclipse/docs/...stinstallerror
solved my issue.

Same on F16, Eclipse 3.7 - same hack works

Does anybody from packagers acknowledge this?

Re: Installing Android on Eclipse

Hi. I think the developers and package maintainers are too busy to read this forum

I am still on F15 with Eclipse 3.6.2 (Helios). I follow the "steps" described in here (you can call them 'hacks' if you like) to install the ADT plugin and the Android SDK. The HOWTO should be still relevant for Eclipse Indigo.

Re: Installing Android on Eclipse

Well, I've been using Fedora 16 (i686) for a while and wanted to give it a try on Linux as well. I mean, downloading, installing and setting up an Android application development environment on my Fedora installed machine. I've tried and succeed setting that up using a Windows based system before and it still works on Win7.

Here, I'm giving my Fedora installed system's specifications below:
*Intel dual core processor,
*Fair enough RAM,
*Open Java Development Kit (version: 1.6.x),
*Eclipse Platform, version: 3.7.1 (Indigo), Build id: R3_7_1, *Android-SDK (r16) (I've downloaded, "untarred" it to the "/opt" directory location as "root") but...
Although I've followed the given some official instructions, I'm still not able to "fetch" and download Android Development Tools properly and Eclipse having an error which indicates that Android Development Tools couldn't be found via 'org.eclipse.wst.sse.core 0.0.0'
And, here, Android's installation manuals from official site's: http://developer.android.com/sdk/ecl...tml#installing ...

Any idea, please...?

Re: Installing Android on Eclipse

@kerimatasoy

You untarred Eclipse to /opt as root right? Maybe you don't have proper permissions to write to this folder, when you are running Eclipse as normal user. Tyr to this:
Code:
# user - your username
# /opt/eclipse - yout Eclipse installation folder
chown -R user /opt/eclipse

Re: Installing Android on Eclipse

Well, I might have installed the Eclipse using Fedora's installation ISO DVD or "Add/Remove Software" feature (gpk-application ver: 3.2.1 // Package Manager for GNOME) which is bundled with. I checked my "Downloads" directory location if I'd downloaded and installed the Eclipse using any available "rpm", "yum" or "tar" packages but couldn't find something like those thingies...

Here, I'm sharing some information that shows the downloaded and "untarred" package's location on my Fedora system which is a required for developing Android applications using the Eclipse:

[user@localhost İndirilenler]$ ls -a ("Downloads" directory)
.
..
android-sdk_r16-linux.tgz
[user@localhost İndirilenler]$ pwd
/home/user/İndirilenler
[user@localhost İndirilenler]$

[user@localhost opt]$ ls -a
. .. android-sdk-linux
[user@localhost opt]$ pwd
/opt
[user@localhost opt]$

Thank you very much for your all concern and help by the way...
