Any way to remove Konqueror from KDE?

Just curious. It does not actually bother me, but just wondering if it is physically possible to remove Konqueror from KDE in Fedora 11 without damaging the system.

No, not using the usual package management tools, since it's a component of package kdebase, and removing that will certainly (surprise!) damage KDE.

You could always (AT YOUR OWN RISK of course) simply delete the executable, but why? Is there something going on here that you would like to see changed, like: opening URLs in another default browser?? Preventing Konqueror from pre-loading itself into RAM??? These settings and such can be tweaked....

No, the default browser I changed in the settings menu, although the pre-loading of Konqueror into RAM I'm not familiar with. Can you tell me more about that, please?

All in all, it was just curiosity. I came across the same question and solutions for it on other distros, but nothing for Fedora, so I decided to ask it here. Thanks. =) On a more general note, can you recommend any good book or any sort of literature to learn Linux architecture, commands, etc.? A decade of Windows usage has left me completely ignorant of how -NIX systems are built, even though I can use them for the day-to-day stuff.

(1) Should find it in Konqueror's settings: Settings => Configure Konqueror => Performance => Preloading => un-check "Preload an instance after KDE startup" && set "Maximum number of instances kept preloaded" to zero (0).
