mp3 in FC3 test 2

Hi all,

How can I use xmms with mp3. I can't find xmms-mp3 with yum. Where can I download it.

And another question, where can I find a player to view mpg and avi movies, with all codecs. With FC2 I just use "yum install mplayer*", what shoul I use with FC3.

sadly testing fedora with your favorite packages will be hard becuase of the lack of packages built for fedora test releases, which means it will be harder to find bugs before prime time you might just have to build you own rpms or download the srpms from the "testing" section of your favorite repos and rebuild the rpms.
Thanks for testing fedora!

I'm moving this thread to the specific FC3 test forum, please make sure you look at all the categories before posting.

As of this moment in time Livna is not offering test packages, but I would advise you to bear in mind that FC3 Test 2 is for testing the actual system. NOT all of the extras from 3rd party sources.

You can add these to your yum.conf from fc2:

Code:
[fedora-stable]
name=Fedora.us Extras (Stable)
baseurl=http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fedora/latest/i386/RPMS.stable/

[fedora-unstable]
name=Fedora.us Extras (Unstable)
baseurl=http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fedora/latest/i386/RPMS.unstable/

[fedora-testing]
name=Fedora.us Extras (Testing)
baseurl=http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fedora/latest/i386/RPMS.testing/

[livna-stable]
name=Livna.org - Fedora Compatible Packages (stable)
baseurl=http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/2/i386/RPMS.stable/

[livna-unstable]
name=Livna.org - Fedora Compatible Packages (unstable)
baseurl=http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/2/i386/RPMS.unstable

[livna-testing]
name=Livna.org - Fedora Compatible Packages (testing)
baseurl=http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/2/i386/RPMS.testing

[freshrpms]
name=FreshRPMs
baseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/2/i386/freshrpms

[dag]
name=Dag APT Repository
baseurl=http://dag.freshrpms.net/fedora/2/en/i386/dag
Then the usal routine.

Or pull down the src.rpm and rebuild them.

If I add those FC2 sources to FC3test2 yum.conf will it cause some problems?

It "shouldn't", because the rpms in those repo's wont be found in fedora's main repo. But there are no guarantee's, except death and tax's of course.
