Colorful lines

Alright well I just tried to install the latest version of fedora and I'm not having any luck. I downloaded the installable live CD but upon boot after I see the screen that starts to count down to move forward all I get is a bunch of colored lines? I'm guessing video card so I would like to know what line arguments I need to pass in order to get going. I installed suse 11.1 and have windows xp on my machine neither have any problems.

Well I tried your suggestion and also a few more I found nomodeset, option"accel method" "xaa". and option "acceldfs" "off". But nothing worked any more ideals?

option"accel method" "xaa". and option "acceldfs" "off"

these are settings to put in the xorg.conf file, not in the kernel command line.

Can you try just the option '3', which should get you a text boot, and see if that works at least?

Well I guess that explains why they didn't work then. And could you explain what you mean option '3'? the only options I can choose from are Boot, Verify and Boot, memory test, boot from local drive, and tab to edit options.

Sorry - I meant to just add the single character '3' as a kernel parameter, i.e. after you hit tab to edit options.
