Looking for advice on text conversion

Hey fellas,
I have like 20,000 text files that I need to convert to windows format. I know about mac2dos but I am in need of a way to execute one command on an entire directory of files. I would like to go with something that can be run or compiled to run on either windows or linux. Sorry I am by far not a programmer, but could someone point me in the right direction or at least let me know if this is a stupid question cuz the answer is so simple.
