yum has the latest stable release, 0.9.3, but there usually won't be any rpms for the 1.0rc because its just a testing version.

you can find firestarter on the dag wieers repository :

dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/packages.php

In your yum.conf you can add :

[dag extras]
name=Dag's Extras
baseurl=http://apt.sw.be/fedora/2/en/i386/dag/

hope it helps,
deuch

the one included with system (system-config-securitylevel) is quite ok. it is easy to setup and just works. for most home/standalone/workstations users this is perfectly good solution.

Firestarter is what to use if you want more control than just on/off/allow ports. It's still pretty easy to use. It's available at Fedora extras, amoung other places. You'll have to add a yum.conf repository.

See my how to.
