Network Manager disconnects after 2-3 seconds, but network works..
I'm currently on F11, and experienced problems with Network Manager. Whenever I to connect to a network, wired or wireless, it just seems to try to connect, and then after 2-3 seconds, it just reports "Disconnected"..
Then I switched to network, and both wired and wireless works. so I don't think there is any driver or hardware issue...
Does anyone have any idea of this problem? The network manager have worked on the live CD version ( before installed to HD).

Wireless Diconnects
It was happening to me too. I read on this forum that it can happen if you have multiple wireless devices seen in your networking devices. So just review that and if you find an unwanted device listed or mulitples for the same one delete one.

I'm experiencing the same problem (with wired connection). In my case NetworkManager shows connected but internet (and all other networking stuff doesn't work). If i click on the network in the NM icon so that the network disconnects and then reconnects, then i have internet for some time (10-30 secs) and then it goes off again (i have to repeat the procedure to make internet work again).
I'm sure this is some problem in some recent update, as it was working fine until about a week or so before.
Thanks in advance if anyone has some suggestions

Does it disconnect when downloading at high speeds? If yes, you need to change the driver.Let me know.

Not sure about high speed, but it does disconnect. Ya, and mostly when i refresh/open many tabs at once (if that counts as high speed). And as i'm using a university proxy in local network, so maybe the connection to the proxy is high speed. What driver do i need to install. I think currently theres sky2 driver. I did try searching in the forum but couldn't get relevant results (this thread comes in front in all searched). Thanks a lot again, i think you may get it working for my. Which driver do i need to install?
EDIT: I got your thread wvn, http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=224386 . You seem to have gone very far in changing the driver and compiling it for the current kernel. I'm afraid i'll not be able to try it. Anyways i'll keep the command you specified
ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex half autoneg off
handy whenever i need it. For now i can live with reconnecting the network every now and then, and if need be i'll try the above command. Also you seem to be correct, the network not does go off after a fixed time, it seems random.
Thanks a lot.
