How stop request for password to password manager whenever logs in to wifi?
Everytime I boot and it starts to log in to my wifi network, it prompts me for a password to the password manager (kwallet? i forget) How do i stop it from doing that everytime? (I set it to automatically log in to the wifi network)

How do I stop this? It's forcing me to enter another password in addition to my wifi one to connect every time.

Hello 6tr6tr:
While we understand your desire to resolve this issue as soon as possible, bumping threads is discouraged, until at least 24 hours have passed without a response. Then you are encouraged to post with whatever action(s) you have taken towards a resolution.
This post will itself serve to bump your thread again (it's a free bump).
Doesn't the kwallet ask you if you want it to remember your authorization(s)? Have you tried to configure the wallet(s)?? Please also post your Fedora Release number and architecture (at least) and any other relevant info (like: desktop environment - KDE I'm guessing, & etc.).

Sorry about that! Thanks for being so understanding.
The problem is, it's not KWallet doing this. It says "keyring". I'm not sure where to find that or configure it (or stop it) especially since I'm on KDE and I thought keyring was for gnome. Do you know how to fix keyring on KDE?

No, I don't know - but my knee-jerk reaction would be to (attempt to) remove it, assuming that doing so won't erase the whole OS due to ridiculous dependencies.
My best guess as to the package name: gnome-keyring
So try:
yum remove gnome-keyring
But don't approve the transaction if it wants to drag out important-looking stuff with it. Come back with the list of victims scheduled for execution, and ask first.

P.S. If you installed the whole GNOME desktop suite, my guess is that you will not be able to remove the keyring thingy without removing virtually the whole GNOME desktop. In which case you can search the forums for a work-around - I seem to remember some discussion of GNOME and keyrings a while ago. If you installed Fedora with a KDE-Live, or customized install just with KDE, you can probably cull this without too much pain.

I've had a bit of a problem with this myself.
I've found a resolution, but you'll understand it's not the sort of thing you do very often so I can't say it's definitive.
If you install from the KDE live CD KWallet wants to manage passwords. It will treat a wireless key as a password and won't regurgitate it until you give the KWallet password. In ridiculous circumstances that could be longer than the wireless key you are supposed to be protecting. I can't find any way to tell it not to bother.
If you install Gnome, then Fedora being Gnome-centric, The Gnome-keyring tries to take over managing passwords. Unfortunately in the KDE implementation it doesn't have an option to tick "Save this password".
When I logged into Gnome and tried to wireless connect, Gnome-keyring asked for my password and gave me an option to save it. It now appears to have remembered it for KDE as well.
If you try it, I'd be happy to know if it works out that way for you.

Cool! Can you give me a pointer to how I can install Gnome in addition to KDE? (and then to remove it afterwards)

Hello 6tr6tr
Installing Gnome is fairly easy.
Code:
yum install @gnome-desktop
should do it.
In theory:
Code:
yum remove @gnome-desktop
should remove it, but you'll probably find its got more dependencies going out than coming in and will likely wreck your system. In any event, if you remove the Gnome functionality, KDE will probably go back to using KWallet again.
I hasten to say that's a guess from other readings on the forum. Just be prepared. Personally, I'm happy to have both desktops in place and play with both of them - though predominantly KDE.
If you are really that short of space to need to remove it I'll be an interested observer!!
