Worked in the last few days but no longer do, but don't crash, I get a connection refused error.

-------->These Don't work: 66.163.181.167 66.163.181.172
No crash, no error, they just don't connect.

I tried to compile from source the new pidgin and failed. It keeps on yelling about some libraries etc, which are already installed...so I gave this up (
After this, I tried to connect again on the old pidgin (2.5.6.1) and it crashes after I log in. Anyone experienced this?

You might try the packages at http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/pa.../pidgin/2.5.7/

It will be necessary to install the libpurple-2.5.7-1 package first then the pidgin-2.5.7-1 package.

This worked for fc10.x86_64

Thanks to Hlingler for the link to those rpm packages.

Thanks.
I tried from same link to compile directly pidgin. I haven't tried to install first the libpurple. I have already as pidgin, the libpurple 2.5.6.1.
Maybe tomorrow I'll try again.
When doing ./configure I got all sorts of packages as missing as xscreensaver, meanwhile etc...which are installed. With yum install or upgrade it would always tell me that I have the latest.

ya that does not work for me as of now.
Any other servers working or all have been upgraded.

I cant use the 2.5.7 version as I am behind a Campus Proxy ( and the new authentication scheme implementation in Pidgin does not handle if proxy does not allow SSL connections.

Please get me other servers till this problem is fixed.

But I guess If Yahoo messenger 9 works through the proxy then pidgin should be able to also.
Also Is version 2.5.6 working for anyone still on any of the servers not upgraded.

umm no..Yahoo messenger9 is the Native Client so it would work anyway. Pidgin is a native client to any Protocol IM so the devs of Pidgin rely on getting the new updates so everyone can use Pidgin, same goes for any other Multi IM client
