Fedora 11 - problems with package manager and system-config-services

Hi all,

I posted this in the software forum last week but have not had a response. Thought I would try over here as well.

I just installed Fedora 11 (x86 64) and I'm having multiple problems getting system-config-services and the various GUI package managers to work correctly (gpk-application, etc).

First the package managers - They correctly show the installed and/or available packages but when I select something to uninstall and hit apply it resolves dependencies for a moment or two then does does nothing. When I go to quit is says that changes were not applied. I'll hit apply again and again nothing. Very strange. The behavior is the same when trying to install packages. Package management using yum on the command line works fine.

On to system-config-services... Some services can be enabled/disabled just fine, but others (httpd as one but not the only example) do nothing when I try to enable or disable them. I'll select it, hit the big green enable button, and _nothing_. Very frustrating.

I have done a re-install twice now and am getting the same problem.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

One update to the problem with package management - kpackagekit reports "You do not have the necessary privileges to perform this action" when trying to add/remove packages.

This is when running as root. selinux is disabled.

Package management works okay here, but my system-config-services won't let me enable/disable any services. This is F11 x86_64.

It is a "known" and ignored bug since Fedora 10 with low priority. You can see the Python error messages by running system-config-services as root in a terminal.

The gui responds, it just doesn't accomplish anything - I suppose that is one way to simplify the user experience.
