No mouse on opening screen after reboot

Installed F11 on Ext3 and have no mouse on opening screen. I see someone else posted similar and had an add something to kernel. Could somebody please explain how to add to kernel or any other fixes out there for this problem. All was fine in F10.

I thought I had no mouse following install and first boot to opening screen but, I think its' frozen as I can't tab around or key log off. Trying to decide what to do here. Re install or back to 10.

You need to determine if the system is locked up or there is no mouse first, I don't think its an issue with F11, so to say, even though you don't have this issue in F10. If its no mouse I would recommend adding the set Option "HWCuror" "off" in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

First thing would be to check the logs for problems; if you post those issues here we can help you, so far you give us nothing to work with, which is one reason no one has tried to answer your question.

I would always recommend running a Live CD and see if you have the same issue; it answers some questions, but the log files will answer the rest.

Thanks. I just reinstalled and this time wouldn't complete the boot process. I'll just go back to 10. I have a backup image so no biggy.

Good find; didn't know about this issue; seems you shouldn't have this issue if you install it to the whole hard drive, instead of a partition or custom configuration; which I think is the best idea anyway; unless your running on a Lap Top and want a dual boot or only have one hard drive.

I love F11 but F10 is Great also and really no need to upgrade unless you just like upgrading; most of my machines run CentOS 5.3; very stable; but my Development Machine always has Fedora on it; if I wasn't changing Hard Drives, I might not have Updated so soon.
