Uninstall Firefox
I want to download and install the new Firefox 1.0. I saved this file called firefox-1.0PR-i686-linux-gtk2+xft-installer.tar.gz however I still need to remove the Firefox 0.9.3
When I originally installed Firefox on FC2. I just used the built in installer as I am sure the file I mentioned above has too.
I have this directory in which I installed Firefox / usr / lib / firefox
In this directory, I have all these files.
[root@carlwill lib]# cd /usr/lib/firefox/
[root@carlwill firefox]# ls
chrome install.log libsoftokn3.chk registry
components libmozjs.so libsoftokn3.so res
components.ini libnspr4.so libssl3.so run-mozilla.sh
defaults libnss3.so libxpcom_compat.so searchplugins
extensions libnssckbi.so libxpcom.so xpicleanup
firefox libplc4.so libxpistub.so
firefox-bin libplds4.so mozilla-xremote-client
greprefs libsmime3.so plugins
Do I just delete this directory completely and reinstall this or must I run some mystery command to uninstall Firefox then delete the dir?

I assume deleting it would be fine, but I just went ahead and found an RPM.

I didn't un-install my 0.9.3. Instead, I just did an UPGRADE using this method:
http://www.fedoranews.org/tchung/firefox/
Running 1.0PR as we speak.

This is the exact link where byrantee was referring to. http://www.xs4all.nl/~snetselr/timon...at-fedora.html. Just click on the Download Mozilla Firefox 1.0PR Red Hat Fedora Core 2 RPM orange link and start downloading.

Difference from PR version is the RSS Live Bookmark that you should notice on the bottom right.
