Hello,
I was wondering how would it be possible to output all of my sounds through my HDMI cable. The only way I am able to get the sound to go through HDMI at the moment is using VLC and setting the output to ALSA and selecting my nvidia HDMI device from the drop down list.
This works fine, however, I was wondering how I can change the output of all my sound events so I can hear sounds from (i.e. youtube) through hdmi.
I don't know if this is normal, but I went into System>Preferences>Advance Volume Control. In the drop down device list, it only list my HDA Intel device, while in ubuntu I would also get a choice of my Nvidia HDMI device. Not a big deal since I know my HDMI audio still works, but usually I would assume since my device is detected (vlc found it) it would show up in the alsa mixer?
