Recompiled Fedora Kernel, no ntfs

Hi all I just got done recompiling the Fedora kernel, to correct a freezing problem I had. The freezing problem seems to be gone but I was kinda in a hurry when I did xconfig, I forgot to choose ntfs to be loaded.

I tried the usual, went to flatcap's site to try to find the module, but there isn't one for the kernel I chose to install. (2.6.8.1). I really don't want to have to recompile it again just for ntfs support.

Is there an easier way?

I don't think there is then. But if you have your previous kernel config saved just adding the ntfs support and recompiling the kernel isn't that much of a task.

It took at least 3 hours, is there a faster way to add it?

ccache might have helped but you would have had to have used it when you compiled it for the first time.

do something else while the kernel is compiling, mahjongg is surprisingly addictive. try that or watch a movie or something.

Just found this here:

http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora2.html

I didn't test it myself, but sounds good to me .

I have used rpms from the site you had mentioned, in fact I am using it now and it works on my side.
