Could not update ICEauthority file

Hello all,

First of all i would like to inform u all that i am really new to the whole linux scene.
So please excuses me in advance for asking some really dumb questions.

I installed my fedora box 2 days ago and installed an apache, php and mysql on it the first day. All when amazingly good

Yesterday i started experimenting with vsftpd and vnc

I bot logged on the GUI and used putty (ssh)

today i boot up my fedora and get: Could not update ICEauthority file

i started googling and found this:

unfortunatly i have tried a lot of different things but i do not manage to get back in to my GUI

Any help would be very kind

I am reinstalling now.
But i would still like to find the cause for this error.
Since i do not want to encounter it again in a couple of days.
