Freezing on enabling swap space

I just installed Fedora core 2 with dual boot windows xp. When I go to boot fedora it just hangs after Enabling swap space. I reformatted the linux partition and reinstalled with the same problem. Windows XP works fine. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Matt
