AIC-8130/Marvell 88SX6541 Host Raid - unable to configure RAID.

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with configuring SATA RAID cards with these chipsets? This is a 4port PCI-X card which was used to be installed in HP ML150 G2 entry level servers. I've been searching the internet for a while and can't find a solution so far. I need to configure drives into Raid 1 array, but the card doesn't have a BIOS utility(during POST) and this has to be done in software. I've installed the HP Storage Manager which is just a makeover of the Adaptec Storage Manager and it does not cominicate with the card(3 beeps and exclamation mark) I reckon it's because of the kernel driver is beeing used instead of manufacturers driver(made for RH3/4). is there a open source utility do do it or is there any way around it? If I would have to disable the kernel support for this card and compile and install the driver how should I do it? I'm new to Linux so I need to be given step-by-step instructions, but hints will be also greatly welcome!
I'm using Fedora Core 10 86_x64, it's installed on another hardware RAID array.
